Electricity rate by DSO

# SIEC electricity rate in 2026

Compare SIEC's standard rate with the Local Electricity Community (LEC) rate. ElCom data 2026, WattMatch calculation for a reference photovoltaic installation (10 kW).

Consumer rate

—ct/kWh

energy + grid usage, excluding taxes and levies

Producer buyback

9.00ct/kWh

buyback price for the solar surplus fed in

LEC consumer rate

13.03ct/kWh

price within a Local Electricity Community at 40% grid rebate

LEC producer rate

11.03ct/kWh

producer buyback within the LEC, higher than the DSO rate

**SIEC** serves — municipalities across Switzerland (Valais, canton VS). The standard electricity rate combines energy (11.80 ct/kWh) and grid usage (— ct/kWh). By joining a Local Electricity Community (LEC) with SIEC, you receive a grid-usage rebate of up to **40%** (art. 19h OApEl) and local energy is bought at a more favourable price than the standard rate.

## How are LEC rates calculated?

WattMatch applies the LApEl 2026 formula: total margin = consumer ceiling (SIEC rate minus grid rebate) − producer buyback. That margin is split into three shares: **consumer** (savings on the bill), **producer** (premium above SIEC's buyback) and **WattMatch** (commission capped at 2 ct/kWh). For SIEC that yields a LEC consumer rate of **13.03 ct/kWh** and a LEC producer rate of **11.03 ct/kWh**.

## Coverage and eligibility

SIEC covers — municipalities, LEC eligibility then depends on enough local solar generation (at least 5% of subscribed power, art. 14 EnV) inside your transformer perimeter (≈ 500 m) or substation perimeter (≈ 1.5 km). Check your address in 30 seconds to confirm eligibility.

## How to join a LEC with SIEC

You enter your address, check eligibility in 30 seconds, sign the representation mandate online. WattMatch then handles the steps with SIEC. Activation typically takes 4 to 8 weeks, and savings start when the LEC goes live.

**Disclaimer:** indicative rates based on ElCom 2026 data and SIEC's official filings. The grid rebate (art. 17e para. 3 LApEl, art. 19h OApEl) applies to the rebatable grid-usage component, excluding system services, the electricity reserve, the federal grid surcharge and levies.
