01 · WHY WATTMATCH

# Local energy, real connections.

WattMatch lets solar owners sell their surplus directly to their neighbours. No multinational, no electricity routed across the country: just local energy, transparent prices, and a Swiss platform built on trust.

02 · OUR CONVICTION

## Energy doesn't need to cross half the country to reach you. It's already there, on your neighbour's roof.

More than 200,000 Swiss rooftops generate solar power. Most of it flows back into the grid at a token tariff, while the neighbour pays full price to their supplier. Why?

It's not a technical problem. It's a legacy: a market designed for distant power plants, from an era when neighbourhood electricity didn't exist.

That era is over. Since 2026, Swiss law lets every neighbourhood create its own Local Electricity Community (LEC). Electricity produced here can be consumed here, at a locally-set price, with a network rebate of up to 40%.

WattMatch exists for one simple reason: so this opportunity isn't reserved for engineers and lawyers. Energy sovereignty starts at the scale of a street.

03 · OUR ROOTS

## Built in a bilingual canton, for the whole country.

**WattMatch was born in Fribourg**, on the border between French- and German-speaking Switzerland. The location is no accident: Local Electricity Communities are built municipality by municipality, in the local language, with a fine-grained understanding of the local fabric: cooperatives, municipal utilities, villages of a few hundred residents, cantonal industrial zones.

We work in **French**, **German**, and **Italian**. We know that a LEC in Romont isn't built the same way as a LEC in Winterthur.

This local grounding is what lets us operate nationally without becoming a detached platform.

04 · THE MODEL

## Simple by design

We handle the administrative and technical complexity. You see your energy flow between neighbours.

01

Someone signs up

A producer with surplus to monetise, or a consumer looking for a local alternative. Either can spark a LEC.

02

The LEC is created

As soon as an eligible producer and consumer meet within the same perimeter, WattMatch files the application with the grid operator and the community is officially launched. Other neighbours can join the LEC at any time via WattMatch.

03

Energy flows, measured and billed

From activation onwards, every kilowatt-hour exchanged between neighbours is measured, traced, and billed automatically. Producers and consumers track their flows in real time on their dashboard.
